- Gallicans, not known for seafaring or shipbuilding, provide rich trade goods to merchant ships.
- Temujai from the Eastern Steppe periodically seek access to the Stormwhite and to shipbuilders by invading Skandia.

- The Stormwhite may be related to the North or Baltic Seas, as both have a history of strong summer gales.
Description[]
The Stormwhite is known for its fierce, raging winds during several months of the year, and if Skandians didn't make it across before then, they would stop until the waves subside at Shelter Bay on the small island of Skorghijl. The voyage across the Stormwhite from Skorghijl Island to Skandia takes more than two weeks. [1]
