Martin is Baron Arald's current secretary and first appears in the Ruins of Gorlan.
He appears in The Ruins of Gorlan, and in a way, organizes the wards' Choosing Day. He is known to talk too loud and reminds Will of a rooster when he tries to clack his heels together in soft shoes and he has a funny way of standing to attention when Baron Arald walks into the room. He is known to have an air of zealousness and importance especially on important occasions
When we are first introduced to Martin, he had only been the Baron's secretary for 5 years and knew nothing of Will's past.
