Jory's Lieutenant was a veteran Araluen criminal and slaver lieutenant who appears in A New Beginning. He was killed by an arrow fired by Will Treaty to the neck. He was apparently close to Jory, as they had worked together for over two years and in death Jory said he was one of the closest things to a friend, acting as his leader's apparent lead henchman and anonymous deputy prior to his demise. He was always seen wearing a dark cloak, leaving much of his appearance uncertain.

History[]

Early Life of Crime[]

At an unknown point in time, this man turned to a life of crime and joined Jory Ruhl in 669 C.E. To have been a follower of the ex-mercenary for so long, this man must have been a member of Jory's original gang, plaguing Anselm and its neighbours, kidnapping children and demanding ransoms. Though unconfirmed, he might have been present during the Burning of Wyvern Inn, although, if he did, he was among those who escaped captured and might have been hounding by Will Treaty, although he was able to escape justice and remained with Jory as the brigand entered the slaver business, joining his slave ring.

During their years together, Jory and this man grew to become rather close and the man was regarded by Jory as to have been the closest thing to a friend he had. Though their near-friendship did not ensure immunity from Ruhl's unpredictable outbursts of anger, Jory evidently trusted his lieutenant, who seemed to act as his second-in-command and accompanied an the majority of his operations. Despite their close relationship, Jory's Lieutenant doubted his leader's mental stability and believed there to be something seriously wrong with Ruhl's mind and mental health.
