Rangers are kind of like the FBI a secret organization. They are thought to be sorcerers because they blend into the background so amazingly that they are invisible. in this book Halt another ranger, Horace, are out to find will who is crazy from a drug called warmweed. Evelyn a princess gets kidnaped by the temujia and will has to save her. he does then they find out there are over 5000 of them and then the war begins. will comes up with the idea of having slaves as archers so he trains them and he uses them in the battle and without them the skandians would loose.
